Veteran character actor Allan
Rich’s (Sam Steele)
career spans more than half a century. Although blacklisted in the
1950’s, he has appeared in more than 50 films and 100’s of television
shows. His better-known film work includes Serpico, Rocky IV, Frances,
Amistad, Disclosure, and Quiz Show. His television appearances
include All in the Family, The Rockford Files, Happy Days, Hill Street
Blues, Judging Amy and C.S.I., as well as the mini-series War
and Remembrance. This year Alan completed two feature films, Burial Society and Intoxicating, as well a Sci-Fi Channel episode of Scary Stories. His non-profit organization "We Care About Kids," co-founded in 1995 with Peter Antico, produces educational short films. A Little Tailor’s Christmas Story, which deals with racial intolerance, won a Theatre Renaissance Award, and the anti-smoking farce, The Big Leaf Tobacco Company, won an Award of Excellence from the Film Advisory Board. As an author and acting
coach Mr. Rich created “Act Now, an Organic Technique of Acting.” Some
of his more famous students include Sharon Stone, Renee Russo and Jamie
Lee Curtis.
